What about Mitt Romney?

He's a crap candidate. I wouldn't vote for him because of his votes on energy alone.

"My early prediction for the Republican nominee is George Allen."

Probably. Looking at his platform, he intends to out-Dubya, Dubya.

I think it is funny that his idea of government reform is to require a photo ID for voters.

Terminating CAFE standards is really going to drive down the price of oil.

All in all, he is the one most closely aligned with the lofty standards that Dubya has applied to make the US the country it is today. I think he is a shoe-in for the nomination.

I think he would get slaughtered at the polls by my dog. Like George, my dog won't champion anything new or substantive, but he also greets everyone warmly and will lick your hands. He also likes to sleep on top of my feet.

By 2008, Bush may have America so soured on Republicans that no one with any sense will run..

AS, MM and you are way too optimistic. The GOP did not come this far to give it up so easily. Why do you think Gingrich is back in the picture? The Dems will be lucky this year to regain some power in the Congress. If they pull it off, then we will see how strong this democracy is.
