there's no one on the radar screen that any
of us want to vote for in 2008

...if Big Al Gore decides to put himself in the game, at this current moment in time, he'd have my vote.

Regards, WIJ

<<"mcdonald's would not hire george bush OR bill clinton
to flip burgers.">>

That's true but McDonalds would have a good reason. They wouldn't hire Bill Clinton because he is over qualified and they wouldn't hire George Bush because he is under qualified.

Nobody ever likes the presidential candidates. They all bitch and moan. Both Reagan and Clinton were assailed as disasterous choices. Both turned out to be big winners. GW Bush was hailed as a strong candidate and turned out to be the worst president since Ulysees S. Grant.

ANy one of the top Dems would make a fine president, though I have serious doubts about Hillary's electability. She would galvanize the rightwing smear artists too much, for some reason. Kerry, Warner, Biden and others would be better choices. On the GOP side it's McCain's to lose. But since he backed Bush twice I no longer have much respect for him.

So the real question may be "who can beat McCain"? Depending on how discredited the GOP is by then, that means either Warner of a Kerry/Biden type. Hillary cannot beat McCain. Another question is, will the GOP base nominate McCain? Remember, they smeared him too in 2000. The far right hates McCain.
