<<...I also went to Ivy League college and top prep schools and hung out with the elite. I can tell you there are two kinds of elitist, the Kerry type who doesn't mind taxing the rich and fights for the middleclass and poor. And the Bush type who dresses up to appear to be a friend of the workingman but whose policies are strictly for the upperclass. Bush's tax cuts he wants to make permanent reward idle inherited wealth. The richer and more idle you are the less you pay...>>

Interesting comments...My youngest uncle (from San Francisco) went to Andover on a scholarship...he was there at the same time as Mr. Bush was. My uncle worked very hard from day 1 and says that GW Bush was not known as a serious student at all -- not someone you would ever expect to become President. My uncle got into Yale the old fashioned way (he wasn't a legacy like Mr. Bush)...I've heard a number of stories about GW Bush and most of them aren't good...My uncle worked very hard in college (because he had to) and then went onto Johns Hopkins Medical School...He ended up in San Francisco as a pulmonologist and has been teaching residents at UCSF and doing Asthma research. Yet, my uncle married well and he's still the same uncle I always knew...still driving used volvos and working hard to volunteer and teach others...My uncle's wife is related to the founder of Whirlpool Corporation and as a family they now have A LOT of resources. Yet, this branch of the family has been very upset with Bush's policies...They never agreed with the decision to go to war in Iraq and don't understand tax cuts for the wealthy as an all-important priority...My aunt and uncle are more interested in health care for everyone, adequate funds to protect the environment, and more spending on science and basic research. On top of that they are shocked when they consider our nation's deficit. They are NOT short-sighted folks and have given lots of money away over the years...They also have become more active and have been giving money to candidates running against Bush and his policies. It's clear that not all of the very wealthy folks in this country support Mr. Bush and his party...IMO, the GOP has been hijacked by right-wing extremists and they are out of touch with real "mainstream American values" - regardless of the voter's income level.
