Greenhouse gases are caused by burning fossil fuels and forests primarily. That is not a natural cycle. It's called man self-destructing because he's tool stupid to invent and use clean energy sources. The biggest free clean energy source of all is the sun. But Reagan dismantled Carter's huge solar program at the behest of the same oil companies who control Bush-Cheney and gouge us at the pump.

Jim re: or caused by greenhouse gasses, studies show that greenhouse gasses were present in all warming periods. It is not clear if those gasses are cause or effect. -AK

Periods of warming and cooling are normal, man. We have lots of evidence of that. Not much further back than 800,000 years though. beyond that backwards and thus forward looking, everything is but guessing. The "Global Warming" religious nuts claim, however, that what goes on right now, evidence of which is the warming since 1970, is evidence of a totally new trend: First time ever that Mighty Man of Earth and Universe has through his stupidity been able to change those cycles into an exponential curve of man made heating with dire consequences to follow soon.
