Mark, once again you've lost me.

A bright guy, who exerted enormous influence (bad), wrote that "the madmen in authority, who hear voices in the air, are distilling their authority from the scribblings of some defunct economist" - (or something like that). Keynes also wrote that the influence of economists are much grater than generally understood.... Them there defunct economists are not usually trying to remain "behind the curtain". Au contraire.

Sometimes they're right, sometimes wrong, but they're generally trying to improve the human condition. Experience indicates that some are far better than others. Picking the winners can be downright confusing, sometimes even for decades.

The market-oriented philosophers still own the top of the food chain.
