I think that the more we know about what our ancestors did, the better chance we have of getting it a little better this time around.

I visited Williamsburg in the 50s as a youth. It was very interesting even then.

My Williamsburg story: Being from Montana, I had silver dollars in my pocket. We had lunch at a place where the waiters were in colonial dress. I went to the counter and bought some gum with a silver dollar, and got change for fifty cents. The guy had never seen a silver dollar.

My Dad got me the correct change. I wish he could get back all the silver dollars that I once had. To me, they were just a preferable form of money.
