KLP: You will enjoy THE RISE OF THE VULCANS. In fact, everyone on this thread who really thinks seriously about America and its current place in the world should read the book. It succeeds in reviewing the political and geopolitical forces at work in the modern world and quite impressively outlines and explains the postures and positions of the leading players, especially those Vulcans who constitute Bush's Cabinet and inner circle. I found it hard to put down once I started reading it.
