I support Israel ... mostly because Israel is the only friend that US got in this part of the world. The primary reason the rest of the ME hates the US is because of the US's support for Israel. There is nothing else in US-ME history that would generate significant negative attitudes toward the US amongst the ME population. I agree. The comment above came from AK. I don't think we should abandon Israel but I would like the US to play a more neutral, less biased role and push hard for Palestinian statehood. Maybe wrongly, I think that once the Palestinians are working to create their own state the animosity between the two will lessen.
