No doubt about that. In fact, Israel, despite its policy vis-a-vis the Palestinians, is a far more liberal country than is the US. BTW, the settlers are not really Israelis. Most of them are American or Russian immigrants.

My take is the American Jewish Establishment is far more liberal than one realises. But the leadership is very conservative and very pro right-wing Israeli politics.
