The israelis are making a mistake. Now Hamas like the PA before it will garner the worlds sympathy. IMO it would have been far better either to cooperate until signs appear that they are breaking the truce while allowing the russians to talk to them fwiw. OR they should have taken firmer action from the getgo. I dont like this middle of the road course. Soon we will be back to divestment etc. Europe will jump off the israel ship in a few months and if you are right about Condi, so will the US. Personally i would have preferred Israel giving Hamas some more rope for them either to hang themselves or adapt to their new reallty.
