The problem isn't that he met with him...I agree with you that if he sat with him ten times, such things happen all the time in Washington D.C.

The problem for Mr. Bush is credibility. The President says he did not remember meeting him...but if it is shown that he was with the guy in one on one discussions more than once, at some point it is reasonable for anyone to say: "Why don't you remember him?" The longer Bush hangs on his faulty memory, the worse it ultimately would get...IF there were multiple meetings, as some allege.

Better for Bush at the beginning to have said, "yeah, I met the guy a couple of times. Even talked about the Redskins. That's it".

You can bet every demo blogger and all the MSM's are looking for the other connections. If they exist, it just gets to be more embarrasing. He could have stopped this right up front.
