9/11 is a significant event, but the ideological war still predates it.

Would you say in modern times the ideological war starts with the founding of Jewish Israel smack in the middle of a small traditionally Muslim-Jewish-Christian region, which is smack in the middle of a 98% Muslim geography?

If not, what ideological war are you refering to?

I take a longer-term view of the problem. 9/11 is a significant event, but the ideological war still predates it. Only the stakes are higher now because of these circumstances.

Yes, that's true but 9/11 and Bush have intensified that divide so that people like myself are now concerned whereas before I pretty much ignored what was happening. I think the ideological war has reached a level of intensity that works against the best interest of the country.
