I'll have to read the piece. Still, the CIA has been so thoroughly discredited in so many ways, the Duelfer Report and the Senate reports come immediately to mind, that it would not surprise me that any ex-official would be recreating reality for his own purposes. Why would Tenet wish to mollify anyone? Isn't it his duty to report as objectively as possible? Blaming the Administration for the failure of an official to speak his mind, if indeed he held a contrary view, says more about his failures than about the Administration's, which is a consumer not a producer of intelligence--no pun intended.
