Rock, I agree with all that you state. I'm wondering if
the ethanol initative makes growing sugar cane a viable
commodity crop in the US. Just think, with a little bit
of bioengineering someone could likely merge corn stalks with
sugar cane genetic material making the process a whole lot
more cost effective. Talk about "sweet corn"! Exactly the
reason that I am upbeat on the longer term economics
and viability of the technology. If the stalks can be utilized
as both a sugar source and later as a fuel supply then the
whole process becomes very economically feasible.
