30% corrections are common in hot stocks. 20% is commonplace.

Look djia if you want to stay in the old names thats fine but Cisco and MSFT have moved what , $2 in 3 years? Obviously that limits your risk but otoh how much can be gained?

To tell you the truth even if GOOG crashes to $100 I would be happier in GOOG than the flatline we have had for the past few years. I would get stopped out of goog at 290 or something, and move to another hot stock. Stocks like GOOG,AAPL,CRM go up and down because there is actually speculation in them. The worst market from my pov is a flat one. And corrections mean nothing in terms of growth potential either. Oracle went from 40 to 4 when I worked there, but for those that held, they all became millionaires. Just like this little correction in goog here.
