Any chance that you can show other examples of people going to jail in similar circumstances? It's my understanding he had the license but not a particular game stamp, which in no way was contributory to the accident.

If you can demonstrate that jailing is a common practice in these cases .... I will apologize for thinking you are so partisan that you believe the punishment should fit the person, rather than the incident.

Under the circumstances, I don't think he should have gone to jail. However, he should have availed himself to an early--near immediate--interview with law enforcement. Imagine if folks treated traffic accidents similarly!

Now now karen, Cheney made a mistake that other hunters are making. Texas is issuing warnings, not summonses. This is a new requirement and he had his staff buy the licenses. So, someone somewhere did not do their homework.
