Could you provide a guaranteed not to exceed net present value of the cost of nuclear waste disposal on a per kilowatt basis?

Thats why nuclear is not competitive.

the energy is going to be way to expensive and it is hard to believe that the enviromental impact would be minimal considering that you would have to cut the forests to put windmills. You know that deserts are not available everywhere.....

There is the believe that they have zero environmental impact. Given that they absorb energy, that can't be true. It very well may be that the impact is pretty small, but the same is true for nuclear when factored over the power generated. That is, as long as somebody doesn't try to do boneheaded experiments on them while in operation...


There may not be physical degradation but they sure are ugly to look at.
