Nadine, if you want to see something truly a-m-a-z-i-n-g, take a look at the Press Conference today ....see whitehouse.gov ...

In a time when important things are happening around the world, the MSM is so ego driven and narcissistic, they spent nearly the entire time hollering and fussing at McClellan about the Cheney incident...(when did it happen, why, when did the President know, etc etc etc etc etc etc)

I'm not at all sure why the accident was so very important to these journalism majors, but evidently it was. Certainly does say something about them, that's for sure.

And the good news is that it was recorded, and the exact transcript is available for the ages.

My notion is that both sides screwed up. Cheney should have released this more promptly and the WH media should start trying to act like adults.

But I just watched NBC Nightly News throw an extraordinary hissy fit over the 24 hour delay in getting the story out to press.

The rule with professionals in public life is that if something bad happened and you have nothing to hide, you get all the information out as quickly as you can. Otherwise, you are open to all kinds of speculation. Why the delay? Was there alocohol involved? etc. etc.

There is no doubt this was handled poorly. It is surprising that this was poorly handled even though you had Karl Rove involved early on. I thought Karl Rove was supposed to be the very best in handling this type of situation.
