Loved that link to the story attributed to someone's
"smart mid-western friend with quail-hunting experience".

Authoritative....lol.

Was that one circulated by Dr. Dean or did you
find it yourself?<g>

Sorry, but I'm not buying into the baseless opinions, wild speculation & vast conspiracies of the looney left.

The hunting safety procedures described by those present were quite proper. Had they been followed completely there would have been no accident.

If the events described about the incident are accurate (which have already been investigated by the local authorities), it was a very unfortunate accident. No more, no less. Whittington's failure to announce his location as he reapproached the hunting party contributed extensively to the accident. That doesn't mean that Cheney was free of any complicity in causing the accident. Basic hunting safety rules tell you to make sure you know what you are shooting at when you pull the trigger. He didn't.

Even if Whittington was silhouetted by the setting sun (as has been noted in some stories), Cheney still failed to make absolutely sure that taking the shot was safe. IMO, Cheney should still shoulder most of the blame for the accident.

Feel free to spin this incident any way you wish. I choose to live in the real world, not in some fantasy world where your darkest thoughts about your perceived enemies become your reality despite facts & reality to the contrary. I'm simply not interested in any of that BS.
