Gus > considering the history of the Jews as a landless nation who were condemned by their religion to wander,...A ridiculous, bogus claim I've debunked time and time again

You understand what I mean so don't be difficult. Although the Jews are able to live in any country they choose, and become citizens of that country, their belief is that they had to have a country of their own. In other words, the Jewish people are/were supposed to be a "nation in waiting" and hence, although they were citizens of the country in which they resided, they considered themselves aliens there and likewise so did the other citizens of the particular country. That is why for centuries the Jews lived in ghettos. Only in recent years did they accept that they were truly citizens of a country other than Israel and, similarly, did the non-Jewish people accept them.

And the point I was making, or trying to make, is that the religion is a means to an end, and the end is on this earth not in heaven, as with the Christian religion. For this reason the Jewish religion has both political and spiritual components. Similarly, so does Islam, which seeks to establish a nation under sharia law and ruled by a caliph. All Western political processes, eg democracy, are a means to that end.

Likewise, the Christian faith was instrumentalized by the Middle Ages popes to launch crusades upon crusades, also with an aim to control Eastern Mediterranean's trade ports...

The Frankish papists had left the Church prior to the crusades. The crusades were not conducted by Christians.
