KGI is big underground. It consists of the four largest mines in Kirkland Lake history, which were four of the largest high grade mines in the world at one time. The Lakeshore Mine which is part of the mix went to 8 million ounces of 17 grams per tonne. The KGI people believe they may be able to eventually drill off and mine 20 million ounces of the kind of high grade that made KL famous. If they can reach this goal, sure to be a few years down the road, then this mine will be the 3rd largest mine in North America, behind the Homestake and the Hollinger, equal to the Hemlo camp in total ounceage, and the highest grade large mine ever in North America, with one exception, and that is Goldcorp. On the other hand it will outdo Goldcorp in total ounceage handily.

If KGI can integrate a mining methodology that is highly profitable to match their exploration powers, (which exceeds that of the previous operators by an order of magnitude), the success of the operation will be nothing short of brilliant. It is an operation that will take time to prove itself to the investor. I am betting long on it.
