I do not believe that the US will always be a world power. Our economy has done very well over the last century. Right now we are building immense amounts of negative wealth through the export of our indebtedness. People and businesses who never balance their budgets eventually come to a day of reckoning and when no additional funds are loaned and asset dissolution is discussed instead. Governments are not immune. Canada will not become a world power any time soon. China may be have the strongest economy in the world by the middle of this century.
