The energy companies have been deliberately taking advantage of Bush-Cheney in power and jacking up their prices. They've been doing it since Bush-Cheney were first nominated. Therefore, they deserve to be heavily fined. That money could be used to instigate lcean energy programs which benefit all Americans.

You remember my post a few months ago after I talked to an oilman in Texas at a cocktail party. The guy was drunk and boasted about "charging anything we want" while Bush-Cheney are in power. I asked him if that would stop once Bush-Cheney were gone and he admitted so, then asked me if I am a democrat. I told I had worked with John Kerry. He blanched, clammed up and stormed off, cursing himself for being honest.
