I hope so too - we are already hearing scared voices saying what are we going to do once George and Dick aren't there to protect us. Given Bush's utter lack of interest in grooming a successor, it makes you wonder.

There has been quite a popular uproar lately, calling for the government to please, please keep us all safe at any cost. Maybe, but if so its not even close to the uproar and crisis that would be caused by president Bush doing an "auto-coup". I imagine over 99% of Republicans would oppose such an action. Bush would have no support. The whole thing would fall apart. Also I doubt Bush would try it even if he did think he could pull it off. Tim
