and no flambeaux! I think we're having flambeaux, but don't quote me on this yet. No, haven't seen the poster yet. A buddy from law school whose name is, oddly enough, Buddy Brimberg, started the whole Jazz Fest poster thing. Brilliant, brilliant and nice guy..........couldn't really hack it as a lawyer, not that brains were the problem, he may have been too smart to be lawyer, so he made piles and piles of money with ventures like the posters. Funny you should mention flambeaux. I went looking for them last night. According to Rex Duke, flambeaux for at least two parades -- the Krewe d'Etat and Proteus, and maybe Knights of Babylon. bestofneworleans.com I was talking to my brother last night -- I think we will dress up as the Krewe of Panspermia -- which is the theory that life on earth originated on another planet. This is in contrast to the theories you read about in the news -- creationism versus intelligent design vs. "primordial soup." I am going to dress as a Pomegranate from Another Planet. Lots of red, shiny seeds, and DNA spirals made out of foil. When I was a kid everybody used to dress up as families in related costumes. We're going to continue the tradition. I will suggest to Ben that he go as a gigantic black monolith.
