I have never met a dove hunter (and I know quite a few) that don't eat what they shoot. One dove doesn't usually make a meal...you need 2-3 to have a decent serving. :-)

Only gross, fat, game ranch hunters like Cheney don't eat what they kill, but then Cheney's been know to kill 70 birds a day on his canned hunts - how could he possibly eat that much duck?. You twist the heads off the dead doves, then you hook your thumbs under their skin and peel it off like a sock. You have to chew carefully and spit out the shotgun pellets like seeds. It's all very "manly"!
