Must be something more behind the story. I think Hackett could have defeated Schmidt. I hope he changes his mind and at least runs for that seat. The top Democrats are probably shrewd that a relative newcomer would not defeat DeWine. This election is so important Democrats don't need near-misses--they need solid victories everywhere they can get 'em!
