well if they went to clinton and gave him money he would give them the tech to increase their missiles range, just like he did with the Chinese

re: They won't have enough weapons to cripple us

in a peace time it would potentially kill in hundreds of thousands and cripple our economy

the effect would be far more devastating than world trade center bombing and that was devastating enough

re: and we would squash them flat.

by sending troops there or by nuking them? Either way it would have additional negative effect on US economy.

re: 1200 mile range of their missiles isn't going to cut it.

try longer than that

re: the 1 metric ton payload probably isn't enough

it is not a car that they would try to send. lets start with critical mass of ~15kg or just 1.5% of 1 metric ton

The fearmongers wild imaginations are truly comical. Do they EVER turn them around and imagine what if WE had a military officer with a nuke and a way to deliver it that went off the reservation? WE've got 10,000 opportuinites, where Iran has none so far, and isn't likely to for years.

I'm SURE we could find some identical fearmongering from the period when Pakistan was going nuclear.

1200 is not a correct number. Current Shahab-3 got a range of 1300+ miles. The development of Shahab-4 is finished with capabilities of 2.5 to 3 thousand miles. Shahab-5 and 6 are in development. Shahab-5 may be able to hit some of the US targets and Shahab-6 will be able to hit any US target from Iran.

By the time Iran would have nukes they would be producing Shahab-4 and close to production of Shahab-5. Shahab-6 is expected to enter production before 2015.

Does that help?

We are talking about 2.5 to 3 thousand mile range of the 1st iranian nuke based on Shahab-4.
