Don't mean to be picking at nits, but...In my state the failure to use tags is a form of poaching. Bag limit tags are issued to mark legally taken game. Any hunter caught with an untagged deer can lose his gun, vehicle, be fined and spend time in jail along with loss of future hunting privileges. Failure to have the revenue enhancing game stamp was not the primary reason for having the accidental shooting report written. It was a side issue and again, no way contributory to the shooting. It will be interesting to see what Mr. Whittington has to say upon his release.
