Cheney voted against Martin Luther King Day and he also wanted Mandela to stay in a South African prison. Mandela went on to win a Nobel Prize.

I am afraid you have missed the point. I felt Chenney's GFY comment was delivered as a uniquely, and genuinely lucid and honest expression under a particular set of circumstances. I don't figure he would plan to express himself that way in congress and that he would record it as a momentary loss of control, that he regrets. I don't conduct myself that way, nor do I condone that type of behavior ordinarily. I certainly wouldn't want to see vulgar out-of-control displays become a standard on the floor of congress.

I doubt that we could come to any sort of common understanding here because, frankly, your position is compromised with a desire to score anti-repub points.

My personal feelings for Chenney are not that positive. I consider him a bull in a China shop and regard his position on torture as abhorant. In general, I find my self at odds with hard ass types like him.

This accidental shooting event is an awful personal tragedy for him, his friend, and their loved ones. It is nothing but a political opportunity for politicians and the politicized media, which I find disgusting. When the dust settles, I think you will see that most reasonable people feel the same.
