That makes sense.

Last night I felt as if in objecting to stories being posted that create a worst (or best- depending on your persuasion) case scenario by completely defying any of the known facts and based on what someone just wishes were true, I suddenly became Defender of the VP. Had nothing to do with him, and everything to do with what I view as over the top partisan writing.
I guess this could explain why.

You have a talent for finding brilliant quotes, KH:

"Among diehards on each side, conclusions come first and as the facts come out they are embraced or discarded based on whether or not they support those conclusions. What I find disheartening is that otherwise very smart people are not immune from this phenomenon."

"More Cheney

Jeff Greenfield.

I'm clearly in the "hold the Bush administration in minimum high regard" camp and consider that an understatement and have had more than my fair of outrageous laughs from comedians who saw this as the "definitive proof of the existence of God." (Great line, Jeff).

But it's hardly worth debating or spending any serious discussion time about. Many, many more important things to talk about.

Maybe I'm a bit too removed from this one. My only instant reaction was a vague "Was that a gun hurting someone or a person hurting someone", and the only assumption I made was that it wasn't deliberate... <g>

conclusions come first and as the facts come out they are embraced or discarded based on whether or not they support those conclusions.

A lot of that going on lately. And probably not just lately, perhaps for most of human history.
