Exactly true. But the right has their litmus tests too to be fair and bush has never separated himself from his base. How about stem cells for one issue that infuriates me. Why discard them in the trash heap when the folks who created them are willing to let them be used to help folks with crippling diseases? I understand the rights moral/religious argument but why should all citizens have to adhere to it. To me if abortion is legal, this should be legal even more so because its only a few hours/days into development as opposed to months. Same with RU486.

Republicans are as liberal as Democrats were 30 years ago and have adopted all their social programs making them their own while Democrats have moved further left into a netherworld few people want to be a part of.
