I think some in the US DO put security before human rights- anyone supporting torture certainly does, but to say "all" in the US do this is a problem- and it's so easy to say all- it's so easy to say "Liberals this..." or "Conservatives that..." or the "US does this..."- when it's always much more narrow. It's the all or nothing thing again- and quite frankly, there were a number of voices raised against torture, and bravo to those people.
