I would be happiest if I couldn't attribute or infer any clear party affiliation to anyone on the thread. But that really would knock it down to phone booth-sized territory, and I enjoy the broader discussion we have enjoyed here the past several months.

And maybe word will get around that I am such an old fusspot, partisan bashers shouldn't waste their time coming over just to get banned.

One of the problems with leaving an information gap is that people fill the gaps with speculation

And filling in that gap several days later isn't going to really help since it smacks of 1) the unwilling, aloof VP being coerced into a statement and 2) has allowed for the best spin to be worked out and thus be suspect by all but the believers.
