You have forgotten the Constitutional aspects. The VP, like the President, can only be impeached for "high crimes and misdemeanors." And, despite the fact that the jurisprudence is notably lacking in defining those terms, I don't think an accidental shooting qualifies.

And since the Senate is GOP, there is no way it will impeach or convict, even if it were appropriate to bring proceedings against Cheney.
