Another OT/FA on the subject... I think what happened with Oil is that our ability to find and recover it improved greatly over the past several years - to the point that only a few years ago Oil made some great multi-decade lows, despite the rapidly growing demand. But demand continued to grow, and it apparently caught up with the supply - and may be on course to overtake it.

Funny... long time ago, back in the 70's, I used to say that Russia (USSR those days) would end up in a very good position, since the world would start running low on oil, and Russia - as a result of their incompetence and inability to develop their reserves - would find itself awash in Oil. Sounds crazy, but could be that this is exactly what's happening right now.
