No Joke, Cheney covered up his wrong-doing. The crime was that he lied to the police and the press after blasting a guy in the face at 15 yards, not 30 yards, and much more recklessly than Armstrong reported. Also, the transport of the victim to a farther away smaller hospital proves that Cheney was thinking about covering the whole affair up if the victim had died.

Yes, you could indeed compare this to Chappaquiddick. very much so. Of course none of it's anywhere near as bad as the rightwing murdering both Kennedy brothers. That is perhaps the greatest evil committed in US history.
