the scenario that we were evaluating assumed that the 1st stages of spreading would be wild birds with no confinment to a small geographical region. Only accidental human exposure.
We are pretty much in the 1st stage.

2nd stage is wider spread contamination of farm birds. Still very few human cases. More of economic impact rather than anything else

worst case scenario is up to 25% of population exposed.
Best case scenario is the development of the drugs before it would hit the 2nd stage

Iran is used as a test ground - just kidding

The 5N1 strain has never been expected by scientists to mutate into a human to human contagious strain.
That scenario has only been promoted by the sensational searching media.

Should we see a 2Nx virus emerging like this and spreading worldwide we should be real alarmed, however.
