Seriously the folks who are attacking cheney here with zero evidence of any wrongdoing except for the delay in reporting, will cheer when cheney leaves office--hell they will cheer when he dies. But the republican party has a chance to be reformeed. I know some folks pretty high up in the republican party and they tell me that rudy's tour of the south has been a huge success even in evangelical areas where his social liberalisme is anathema. It seems rudy gets a pass because he is tough on terror. That dovetails what bushes greatest, now perhaps only strength is. If rudy gets a pass from the right, he can hit mid 50s in 2008 as he easily defeats hillary. Thanks karen lawrence, bob herbert and chrissy consodine.
