I'm bothered by the almost certainty the Bush folk would play the "terrorist" card such that FISA would be gutted. Neither the moderate Reps nor the Dems have shown enough long term spine to counteract. And the Bush folk have used the tactic with more than a little political brilliance. So, to be clear, my fear is that we, definitively lose "supervision", to draw on George Will. And since we appear to have no end to the so-called "WOT", those protections will be gone for the long term, not the short.
