I have lost count for the number of times Al Gore has attempted to reinvent his political image. When he and Clinton were running against Bush I, I could see him in the debates as presidential material; since then his political identity has disintegrated into obscurity.

>>This new one defies definition. It seems like he will go any where and say anything these days hoping to get approval from somebody. Saudis aren't that stupid, but some of the extremists in Saudi may exploit his comments. I think it may be the last nail in his political career coffin.

Its not just that he has had a diversity of experience. Most people have at his age. But he keeps appearing in the limelight as though he's had a complete make over, hoping to finally find a niche that will bring him votes.

Well, that Al Gore for you. A typical democratic "bomb-thrower" who is all about posturing himself for political gain regardless of the cost to the nation at large.

Recall that this is the same guy who, in exchange for casting an approving vote for Operation Desert Storm back in 1991, was negotiating how much "face time" he would be granted in front of the cameras.

This is also the guy who loved to lamblast Bush as being beholding to the oil companies, yet never admitted his own oil interests with Occidental (OXY), from which he has profited greatly, partly as a result of his advocacy of selling the Elk Hills oil reserve.

But most of all, this is the guy who couldn't even win his home state during the presidential election.. Which tells us that the good folks of Tennessee knew more about him than the rest of the country.
