the video business seems to be improving.

BBC America, Google wed for Wives deal

BBC America has given Google exclusive rights to premiere an episode from the third season of Footballers' Wives.

The first episode from the season will air commercial free on Google Video today, three days before it appears on BBC America on Sunday. The episode will be free on video.google.com/bbc on Sunday.

Footballers' Wives is the highest rating series on BBC America among 18-34s, and the latest deal is in line with the channel's strategy of attracting younger viewers.

BBC America said research it commissioned recently showed the network was also popular with the iTunes community. The broadcaster found that iTunes users are 1.2 times more likely than the average internet user to watch BBC America.

The broadcaster is the latest to join the episode download craze Stateside. ABC's Lost and Desperate Housewives also became available recently via Apple's Itunes.
