<<"14 hours it took him to report it:">>

Actually it was 18 hours before it was reported and that was by the owner of the property Ms Armstrong. I think it was 36 hours before any kind of statement came out of cheney's office and it was 4 days before cheney said anything publicly.

Dick cheney says he wanted Ms Armstrong to release the news about the shooting because nobody would believe him. He said the reason was that nobody would believe him because of his past history being caught in so many lies (he didn't say it exactly like that but it was what he meant.) He also said he had faith that Ms Armstrong was the best person to get the full truth out to the public.

Here's part of what the press had to say about Ms Armstrongs story:

"At first Ms. Armstrong declined to say who besides Mr. Cheney and her sister were her guests, but she provided the names after The Austin American-Statesman learned of Ms. Willeford's presence. Ms. Willeford spoke Monday by phone but declined to be interviewed again Wednesday. Mrs. Hixon and Ms. Negley did not respond to several messages."

"Ms. Armstrong initially faulted Mr. Whittington. "You tell your companions you're there, and he failed to do that," she said."

In one account Ms Armstron said she was a direct eye witness and in another she gave a conflicting story.
