I think it was 36 hours before any kind of statement came out of cheney's office and it was 4 days before cheney said anything publicly. Dick cheney says he wanted Ms Armstrong to release the news about the shooting because nobody would believe him. He said the reason was that nobody would believe him because of his past history being caught in so many lies (he didn't say it exactly like that but it was what he meant.) "You tell your companions you're there, and he failed to do that," she said." -------- In one account Ms Armstron said she was a direct eye witness and in another she gave a conflicting story.
