Hi Curtis,

Here's some interesting information. First, I went to the Microsoft Update web site and checked on the history of my downloads. I saw that yesterday, Microsoft had downloaded a Signature update for Defender. Second, I checked the status of the update in Defender. I see the message that the Signature update is 22 days old, and that I should update!

In checking the icon for Defender that is in my Sys Tray, I see that there is an exclamation mark in the icon. Apparently, the exclamation mark is telling me that I need to update Defender. When I try to do a manual update, I don't receive any messages telling me that I've already received the update. It just leaves the user in the dark.

I went to the user forum for Defender on the Microsoft web site. I read that others are having the same problems. How about that.

I also check the Software Explorer feature that's shown under History in Defender. I selected Network Connected Programs, and saw that Defender was connected and was given IP Addresses, etc.

So, in conclusion, given that this is a Beta program, I must conclude that there are still a number of problems with it.

Sorry for this long message. Again, thanks for your help.
