For me its simple, one man, one vote. I understand the federalism impulse for the senate and used to for the EC. Bush v Gore changed that perception. Florida was irrelevent for me--what truly upsets me is that bush had fewer votes nationally and became president. Of course the bright side for me is that i now think gore to be a raving lunatic but thats another argument regarding divine intervention.
