Thanks Shack. I had no clue there was a literary connection! Very creative. Anyway, I'm glad I asked as it sounds like I didn't have the "hound" concept quite right after all. <g> Thanks for clarifying.

As for the Eagles, I'm afraid you're correct. It was a pathetic season for them. I still refuse to root for the Giants however. ;-)

Of course, when the pattern is *expected* to have such a break because it happens so often, the "hound" may actually be if the break, upon subsequent backtesting, fails. <g>

We have the break of this bearish rising wedge, now a backtest, but the rebound from the backtest has come on substantially weaker volume, and that has me suspicious. Of course for trading, the only line in the sand that one can use is the wedgeline itself, so you'd probably go long the breakout, and hang in there so long as the backtest doesn't fail.

Then there is the "Hound Puppy", or "Hound of a Hound" as in that NDX wedge off the Feb 10th low we were talking about. Back inside your wedge this morning and toying with the lower trendline.

Hope I don't jinx myself by mentioning it. <G/NG>

OIH yesterday closed above the upper line of that 30 min ED, and today is trying to climb higher. If it crashes back under that line, that would make the break a "hound" - g/ng

OT:

I just caught some men's curling on CNBC.

>>trust me, you want to see those guys with as much clothing on as humanly possible!-g/ng<<

After a quick review, I'd have to say that you'll get no argument from me. <g>
