Hi Grace, okay thanks.

I've been very lucky with the folks I've hired for various odd small jobs (installing shelving/bookcases/cupboard storage into several rooms, etc.)

There's a manager at a large corporation and this corporation is in the business of handling maintenance/construction for large corporations, and one day I mentioned I needed to find someone to hire for a small odd job and he said one of his employees always is looking for odd jobs to pick up, so I hired him.

The people I hire are equivalent to hiring an engineer from Microsoft to do a hightech contract project on the side, because the corporation they work for is a very aggressive, highly competitive business that hires extremely talented people. Unlike the hightech industry, which doesn't permit people to work after hours as a contractor for other companies (while they are employed with an employer), the construction industries does, so that benefits me greatly. The large corporation does the hard work of finding the best talent, and I just tap into that through my contacts, and so far have been exceedingly lucky with some wonderful work they've done at extremely low prices because the workers are so incredibly fast, efficient.

But you're right, for a large project I'd definitely would get a bonded worker so the job is guaranteed. So far, everything has been very small stuff < $500.
