I think they just skew stupid and salacious. I found the news coverage in the UK and in France much more international and much more intellectual- and the dumbed down soundbite was less in evidence (not that there weren't some stupid programs in the UK- I'm only saying that I found more of substance there, than here, in the US.) But then our PBS is no match for the BBC- and it's the BBC that had the most intelligent commentary. Obviously we all know about the mistakes the BBC has made, but a few mistakes don't alter the fact that the intelligence on display there, makes us in the US look like a bunch of ignorant hicks- which, if you look at our knowledge (collectively) of geography, and geopolitical issues, we pretty much are- though I'm sure almost everyone in America could tell you ALL about the OJ trial. Just shows what we in the US think is important.

If the consumer wants pointless salacious stories I'm not sure it makes the media liberal or conservative to give them that- it makes them a business- which is the problem with running your news like a business.

The press, like all of us is out to make money. They will print whatever sells. If the so-called "liberal viewpoint" sells, their items will take that slant.

FOX News caters to one section of the American public. Al Jazeera on the other hand caters to another section of their viewing public.

Would you advocate bombing the FOX studios just because they put out things that you don't like? You and I like many others do not support hordes of people in other countries violently protesting the cartoons since we say that we need to uphold the right of freedom of expression. In the same vein, should we not uphold the right of FOX News to say what they have to say without threatening to bomb their studios?

Just think about it?

Endless tales of missing white women are an intentional distraction from the more substantive stories

I understand that these stories are non-substantive and a distraction but why would avoiding the "more substantive" stories be of particular benefit to the right? I don't see how you get right bias out of Natalie Holloway.
