Just different satellite's, I would expect about the same programming music wise.

I don't know the difference between XM and Sirius.

XM apparently has better sports programming (at least that's what our City Attorney tells me - he's got XM).

You can try out SIRI for free online for 3 days to check it out:

sirius.com

Click the "What is It" then the "Try it" tab.

XM has a free trial also:

xmradio.com

Nice thing about XM and Sirius, you can listen to the streams on your computer when you're a subscriber.
