Joe Kennedy is not Robert Kennedy, you liar. Robert Kennedy fought tooth and nail against McCarthyism and all its allies, though he was not old enough at the time to fight McCarthy directly. Since J. Edgar Hoover was one of the main McCarthyist culprits, and the Kennedys took him on, this may have helped get both Kennedy brothers murdered. If that sounds like a "friend" of McCarthy to you, you need your head examined. Also, early in his career McCarthy was a democrat and a moderate. He changed later on into a fire-breathing totally dishonest and insanely extreme rightwing Republican inquisitor. In changing, McCarthy betrayed his country and everything the founding fathers wanted this country to be. he came, in fact, a major threat to democracy in this country.
